The Roswell Park Medal

         In 1947, the Buffalo Surgical Society made plans to establish a prize, in the form of a Gold Medal, to be called the Roswell Park Medal in honor of Dr. Roswell Park, master surgeon, scientist, scholar, teacher, pioneer in surgical research, author, humanitarian, and benefactor.  The Medal is awarded annually to a recipient who, in the opinion of the Membership, has contributed significantly to the Art and Science of Surgery.
